SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Dropbox Inc. (DBX) on Thursday reported a loss of $5.8 million in its third quarter.

The San Francisco-based company said it had a loss of 1 cent per share. Earnings, adjusted for stock option expense, came to 11 cents per share.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 6 cents per share.

The online file-sharing company posted revenue of $360.3 million in the period, also beating Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $353 million.
