NOTICE

Pursuant to the “Noncoal Surface Mining Conservation and Reclamation Act” and the “Clean Streams Law” notice is hereby given that Glen-Gery Corporation, 1166 Spring Street, PO Box 7001, Wyomissing, PA 19610 has made application to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to renew NPDES permit PA0258008 on existing surface mining permit no. 33050304. The mine site is located in Oliver Township, Jefferson County and is known as the Oliver Township Mine. Receiving streams for the permit are Beaver Run (HQ-CWF); one unnamed tributary to Beaver Run and Beaver Run (CWF); one unnamed tributary to Little Sandy Creek (CWF); Beaver Run (CWF) and Little Sandy Creek (CWF) to Redbank Creek (TSF) to the Allegheny River.

The permit area is 51.5 acres and is situated approximately 1.5 miles south of Stanton on the west side of PA Route 36, east of the Pansy Ringgold Road (S.R. 3005), and north of Alcorn Road (T-333) on the Dean E. Anthony property.

A copy of the application is available for public inspection at the Jefferson County Conservation District, 1514 Route 28, Brookville, PA 15825.

Written comments, objections, or a request for public hearing or informal conference may be submitted to the DEP, Knox District Office, White Memorial Building, PO Box 669, Knox, PA 16232 within 30 days following the date of the last (i.e. 4th) publication of this notice and must include the person’s name, address, telephone number, and a brief statement as to the nature of the objection(s).
