The Jefferson County Board of Commissioners is accepting applications for the
Full-Time position of Planning and Community
Development Coordinator
The Planning and Community Development Coordinator assists in
the formulation, recommendation and implementation of physical
planning, community development and redevelopment policies,
programs, budgets and objectives. The Planning and Community
Development Coordinator is directly responsible to the Director
of Community Development. The primary goal of this position is
to assist the Director of Community Development in carrying out
technical assistance and supportive services to local officials in their
efforts to plan various physical improvements and policies as well
as to assist and respond to local initiatives relating to community
development and redevelopment activities throughout the County.
Requirements for this position include knowledge of physical
planning, community development and redevelopment principals
and concepts, as demonstrated by a B.S. in a Planning,
Community Development or related field and at least one year
of experience in local government activities related to planning,
community development or administration. Must possess effective
communication and interpersonal skills. Computer skills are a must.
Successful applicant should possess the following skill sets; budget
preparation; grant writing, grant management and reporting.
Salary is negotiable depending upon experience and qualifications.
