Brockway watersheddrilling site vandalized

Someone vandalized a construction site on Brockway Water Authority property last week and caused $20,000 in damage.
Ridgway-based state police say the site of a fresh water holding pond on Bundy Settlement Road in Horton Township, Elk County, owned by Flatirons Development, a gas production company, was entered between 6 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday.
Heavy equipment belonging to Force Inc. of Indiana, Pa., was damaged. Windows of the equipment were shot out, substances were placed in the fuel tanks and the interior of the equipment was damaged.
A compactor was driven over a silt fence and a portable toilet owned by T H Port-A-John. Two fire extinguishers were stolen.
Police say damage is estimated at $20,000.
Force Inc. is offering a $5,000 reward for the arrest and conviction of those responsible. Anyone with information is asked to call the state police at 776-6136.
