Disorderly conduct

Brookville police arrested a woman on April 30 following an incident on Main Street. At approximately 5:04 p.m. police were dispatched to the area of 160 Main Street for a report of a woman passed out, lying near the edge of the roof. The woman was removed from the roof top without incident. While the investigation was being completed the woman left the scene and was later apprehended in a local business. She was transported to the Jefferson County Jail to await arraignment on charges of disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. Charges were filed in the office of District Judge Greg Bazylak.

Bad check

Brookville police have filed charges for bad check and theft by deception after being informed at 9 a.m. April 26 that District Court 54-3-03 (Judge Greg Bazylak) had been issued a check that was returned, stating the account was closed.

DUBOIS PSP

Fatal injury

John A. Weber, 77, of Reynoldsville, died following an accident at 2:23 p.m. May 2 on Carson Hill Road in Brady Township, Clearfield County. State police in DuBois said Weber was traveling south on Route 219 on a 2002 Honda Silver Wing. While negotiating a right curve he crossed the double yellow line into the path of a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am, driven by James V. Will, 46, of DuBois. The motorcycle struck the driver’s side of the car. Weber was thrown from the motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Clearfield County coroner. Will sustained suspected moderate injuries and was taken to Penn Highlands DuBois. Assisting at the scene were DuBois EMS, Brady Township Fire Department and PennDOT.

Strangulation

State police in DuBois have arrested two people following a domestic incident at 1:10 p.m. May 5, in Brockway. Police said Jessica Brantly, 33, of Brockway, spit on Brent Cousins, 28, of Kersey, and slapped him in the face. Cousins then strangled Brantly. Both were arrested and police are continuing their investigation.

Domestic violence

State police in DuBois are investigating an incident of domestic violence which occurred at 5:15 a.m. May 3 in Snyder Township. According to police a man and woman, both 41, from Brockway, were arguing when their argument turned physical. The man grabbed the woman by the throat and threw her on their bed before leaving the room.

Cruelty to animals

PSP DuBois are investigating cruelty to animals following an incident at 4:11 p.m. April 24 on Hormtown Road. Police said the driver of a blue Dodge pickup with a work rack on the bed threw two dogs out of the vehicle, then fled toward Renoldsville. The dogs were taken to the Gateway Humane Society.

Arrest on warrant

On May 10 at 12:28 a.m., a traffic stop was initiated on a 2006 Ford F-150 belonging to Jeremiah Wisor, 29, of Patton, for an expired registration. Wisor was found to have an active warrant and was placed into custody. A consent search of the vehicle was conducted. Drug paraphernalia was located in the glove box, which Wisor claimed ownership of. Charges to be filed through Magisterial District Judge Michael Morris.

MARIENVILLE PSP

Home burglarized

State police in Marienville are investigating a burglary in Washington Township, Clarion County. Police said sometime between 5 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. May 2 someone entered the home of Amber Banner, 23, and David Banner, 65, of Fryburg, and stole a TV, guitars and guns. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact PSP Marienville at 927-5253.

Child abuse

State police in Marienville are investigating a report of child abuse that occurred on April 30 in Eldred Township, involving a nine-year-old boy from Brookville.

Counterfeit money

State police in Marienville are investigating an incident which occurred at Dollar General in Fryburg. On April 13 police were told that someone had used three counterfeit $20 bills to pay for items over a span of three weeks.

Driver injured

PSP Marienville investigated a one-vehicle accident at 10:13 p.m. May 2 in Farmington Township, Clarion County. According to police a 21-year-old man from Warren was traveling south on Route 66 when he was unable to negotiate a left curve. His 2013 Ford F-150 left the road, went into a ditch then struck a culvert, becoming airborne. The truck rolled after coming back onto the ground, stopping on its wheels. The truck was towed from the scene and the driver was taken to Clarion Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. He was cited for driving too fast and is suspected of driving under the influence. Police are continuing their investigation, pending blood results.

This included 39 criminal offenses reported, 36 criminal founded offenses, 26 criminal offenses cleared, 21 criminal arrests, 15 crashes, 3 hit and run crashes, two injuries, 4 DUI arrests, 1 DUI-related crash, 229 traffic citations and 192 warnings.

Pedestrian killed

State police in Clarion are investigating a fatal accident which occurred at 11:24 p.m. May 4 in Richland Township, Clarion County. Police said a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling south on Route 338. While negotiating a right curve the Silverado left the roadway and struck two pedestrians in their yard. The male pedestrian is deceased and the female pedestrian was severely injured.

Drug possession

State police in Clarion arrested Jessica Greenawalt, 30, of Meadville at 4:26 p.m. April 19 when she was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. The arrest was made in Beaver Township, Clarion County.

At 10 p.m. April 16 PSP Clarion received a call regarding prescription pills a woman found in her home. Through their investigation police determined that a family member had a valid prescription for the pills.

Theft

PSP Clarion is investigating a theft at 17599 Route 322 in Clarion Township. John Kurtiak, 59, of Strattanville, told police someone took tools from his garage sometime between 8 a.m. October 1, 2018 and 5:20 p.m. April 6. The total value of the tools is $2,344. Anyone with information is asked to contact PSP Clarion at 226-1710.

State police in Clarion are investigating a theft in Clarion. Sometime between 8 a.m. February 18 and 4 p.m. March 29 someone gained access to a credit card owned by a 62-year-old man and 61-year-old woman from Fisher.

Domestic violence

PSP Clarion arrested Timothy Wurzer, 51, of New Castle following an investigation of domestic violence in Redbank Township, Clarion County. The incident happened between 12:01 a.m. and 12:59 a.m. May 4. Wurzer was charged with simple assault and harassment. His victim was a 51-year-old woman, also from New Castle.

Charges are pending in a domestic dispute which occurred at 2 p.m. April 28 at the BP gas station in Clarion. Arrested was a 24-year-old man from Shippenville. His victim is a 26-year-old woman from Shippenville.

Drug arrest

Two arrests were made by PSP Clarion following a traffic stop at 3:38 p.m. February 28 in Perry Township, Clarion County. Police conducted the stop pursuant to a warrant for Sally Jane Tucker, 46, of Parker. Tucker and Timothy James Howard, 55, of Parker, were found to be in possession of loaded firearm, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. They were arrested and placed in the Clarion County Jail on $5,000 bond.

DUI crash

At 9:26 p.m. April 6, PSP Clarion investigated a crash involving a side by side vehicle in Elk Township, Clarion County. The driver was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI. Police are continuing their investigation.

Attempted burglary

State police in Clarion are investigating an attempted burglary at a home on Monterey Road in Perry Township, Clarion County. Police said at 8 p.m. April 11, an attempted burglary allegedly occurred at a home owned by a 58-year-old man from Pittsburgh.
