BROOKVILLE — Russell Park of Brookville may be only 12 years old but he is already a champion. Park won 2017 Grand National Cross Country 10-11 Year old 65 cc class title aboard his Legends Powersports KTM.
Park started riding dirt bikes at the age of three before he could even ride a bicycle. At the age of eight he started racing local woods races in the CRA and AWRCS series in Pennsylvania and in Ohio.
In 2016 he won the AWRCS mini bike overall championship on his KTM 65 cc machine. In 2017 he started the season off in Union, S.C. winning the opening race of the GNCC season in his class out of 24 riders.
He just completed the 13th round of racing in Crawfordsville, IN.
His racing has taken him to Florida, South Carolina, Georgia, North Carolina, New York, West Virginia, and Ohio in 2017.
Park has competed with the best riders in the country and riders from all over the world. They race in the mud, snow, rain and shine.
The tracks range from 4.5 miles in the youth bike class to 8 miles. The youth class runs 90 minutes straight with as many laps as the racer can do in that time frame.
Park credits his success to the help of his sponsors, Legends Powersports, Power Plus Racing, Twin air, Acerbis, IMS, Mika Metals, 100%, Leatt, Bell Helmets, GoPro, Dunlop Tires, Motorcrossvest.com, Head to Toe Sportswear and to his family.
