Dear Editor,

The abundance of local writing talent continues to impress me. In the December 7 issue of the Jeffersonian Democrat, you featured three publications by local authors: the Scripture Rocks book, the Summerville history, and the postcard book. These are all engaging publications that would make great gifts for anyone who enjoys history and reading.

Rebecca M. Arthurs Memorial Library also has copies of the anthology Poetry, with twenty years of winning poems from our annual poetry contest.

Edited by Carole Briggs, with photography by Anna Dinger, this book is an excellent showcase for more local talent.

Some of the included poets have not yet purchased their own copy. What a great gift idea!

Thank you for your ongoing support of area writers and other artists. We can all be proud of the artistic talent that continues to grow in this area.

And a quick reminder: Shop local.

Sincerely,

Patty Zion
