The Upper Allegheny Valley Soccer League recently named its all-conference teams and eight players from Brookville and Clarion-Limestone were recognized.

On the boys’ side, the trio of seniors Braden Peters and Harrison Porter, and junior Kyle Schonbachler represented the Lions on the South Division team while senior Kyle Gotwald sophomore Darius Sorbin made it for the Raiders on the Central Division squad.

Karns City won the South Division title and had the division MVP in senior Nolan Riley. In the Central, division champion Brockway also had the co-MVPs in junior Zane Puhala and Hunter Allenbaugh.

On the girls’ side in the Central Division, the Lady Raiders put three players on the all-star team with seniors Alissa Watterson and Hailey Shields, and junior Jillian Taylor.

Brockway, the division champion, had the MVP as well in Chanell Britton.

In last week’s soccer playoffs, Brockway, St. Marys and DuBois won D9 boys’ titles. The Rovers blanked Port Allegany, 7-0, to win the Class 1A title while St. Marys downed Karns City, 3-1, to win the 2A title. DuBois blanked Bradford, 1-0, to win the 3A crown.

On the girls’ side, Ridgway, Karns City and DuBois won titles. The Lady Elkers edged Brockway, 2-1, in double-overtime to win Class 1A. Karns City shut out Clearfield, 3-0, to win 2A and DuBois beat St. Marys, 3-0, to win 3A.

The first round of the state playoffs were Tuesday.
