Kinzua Country Tango relay team

This team Brookville athletes recently placed second in the open division and fourth overall at the recent Kinzua Country Tango sponsored by the Warren YMCA. From left in front are Bryce Baughman, YMCA Director and Brookville native Thad Turner, Brynn Afton, Dani MacBeth, Ryan Johnson and Braden MacBeth. In the back is Ethan Brentham. The group completed the course — 13.1-mile run (Brentham), 20-mile bike (Johnson), 2.5-mile swim (Afton), 7-mile-orienteering (MacBeths), 3.6-mile run (Baughman) and 8.5-mile canoe/kayak (Baughman and Brentham) in 6 hours, 54 minutes, 44 minutes behind the winning team in the division. Several area athletes competed. Johnson wound up biking the quickest split in 59 minutes while Calvin Doolittle, a ninth-grader this fall at Brookville, had the fastest swim time of 43 minutes.
