ST. MARYS — Winning its third straight road game, the Brookville Lady Raiders basketball team made it a season sweep of St. Marys with a 46-28 win last Thursday in the Dutch Oven.

The win hiked the Lady Raiders’ record to 11-4 — they were 6-16 last year — going into Wednesday’s non-league game at home against Clarion.

The Lady Raiders have two more non-league games after that before closing the schedule with four District 9 League games. Friday, they’ll host Ridgway and next Monday they head to Redbank Valley before hosting Elk County Catholic next Wednesday.

Against St. Marys, the Lady Raiders limited the hosts to 19 percent (9-for-47) shooting. After a sluggish start that had them trailing 8-6 after the first quarter, they outscored St. Marys 16-7 in the second quarter to take the lead for good at 22-15 at halftime.

Brookville led as many as 21 points in the second half, outscoring the Lady Dutch 24-13 after halftime.

The Lady Raiders put three players in double figures as Kira Powell led the way with 13 points and five rebounds. She hit three 3-pointers.

Morgan and Madison Johnson each scored 10 points. Morgan had five rebounds, three assists and two steals while Madison finished with four rebounds, three steals and two assists.

Marcy Schindler wound up with eight points, seven rebounds and three blocked shots
