Olivia Pearson head shot

PEARSON

Brookville’s Olivia Pearson earned an honor that’s a bit unprecedented for the Lady Raiders varsity volleyball program.

The 5-foot-10-inch senior middle hitter was recently named to the Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association District 9 Class 2A All-Star team. It’s not known who the last Lady Raider, if any, was accorded such an honor.

Pearson helped lead the 11-8 Lady Raiders to their first winning season since 2005, their first winning season since 2004 with this year just the second winning record since at least 1997.

Pearson was one of eight players on the Class 2A team with D9 champion Kane leading the way with three players in senior Trinity Clark and juniors Hannah Buhl and Ella Marconi. Redbank Valley, the D9 runner-up, had senior Emily Gourley and junior Josie Rupp named.

Also on the team were seniors Cambrie Campbell of Moniteau and Emily Hegedus of Karns City.
