Plan adds territory for New Bethlehem district court
Wednesday, February 1, 2012
CLARION - New Bethlehem's district judge could substantially add to his coverage area if a plan proposed by Clarion County is approved by the state this year.
Clarion County President Judge James Arner said yesterday (Tuesday) that he and his staff are putting the final touches on a redistricting plan for the county's four district judges, which is required every 10 years.
The plan, which must first be opened for public comment before being submitted to the state by the end of March, would take coverage of a handful of municipalities away from the district courts in Clarion, Paint Township and Knox, and give them to the New Bethlehem office, which currently handles the fewest number of cases.
