NB firefighters presented idea for new facility

Wednesday, February 8, 2012

NEW BETHLEHEM - Representatives from the New Bethlehem Fire Dept. met with New Bethlehem Borough Council members last week to talk about a cooperative effort to build or renovate a building to house both the fire company and borough offices and equipment.
Both sides, however, cautioned that no decisions were made at the 45-minute meeting on Feb. 1, and that if there is a joint project, it is still well into the future.
The idea of a "municipal center" has been discussed at the past two meetings of New Bethlehem Borough Council, with members including council president Sandy Mateer proposing that the structure be used for borough and fire company purposes, as well as for Redbank Valley Municipal Authority and Redbank Valley Chamber of Commerce offices.

For the complete story, see the Feb. 8 issue of The Leader-Vindicator.
