House OKs bill to name bridge for Garrison

Wednesday, February 15, 2012

HARRISBURG - To honor a true local hero who valiantly lost his life while serving his country halfway around the world, legislation has cleared the state House of Representatives to honor Sgt. Joseph Garrison, a native of the Redbank Valley, state Rep. Donna Oberlander (R-Clarion) said late yesterday afternoon.
House Bill 2133, which Oberlander sponsored, would name the Route 28/66 bridge over the Red Bank Creek in southern Clarion and northern Armstrong counties, as the Sergeant Joseph M. Garrison Memorial Bridge.

For the complete story, see the Feb. 15 issue of The Leader-Vindicator.
