Dinger grabs individual title at Coudy golf tourney

COUDERSPORT - Shooting four strokes better on the back nine than on the front, Redbank Valley's Samantha Dinger topped a field of 44 golfers to capture medalist honors by two strokes at the Coudersport Girl's Invitational Golf Tournament at Coudersport Country Club on Thursday.
Taking 42 shots to finish the first nine holes, Dinger needed just 38 strokes on the back side and posted a low score of 80 on the par 72 layout to grab first place in the individual standings. Recording four pars, four bogeys and a double bogey for a six-over par 42 on the opening nine, Dinger holed her lone birdie along with five pars and three bogeys for a two-over par 38 on the second nine.
State College's Jessalyn Holdcroft and Brianna Bevan took second and third with scores of 82 and Teresa Kuhns of Hollidaysburg finished fourth with a 84.
In the team standings, State College claimed first place with a score of 248, Hollidaysburg was second at 266, Bradford took third at 302 and Cranberry was fourth at 328.
