Turnaround season as Knights make playoffs

RIMERSBURG - Was this a turnaround year for the Union Golden Knight football program?
Coming into the 2011 season, Union had a goal of playing itself into the district playoffs for the first time since District 9 instituted the postseason tournament in 1987. The start of the playoffs in D-9 seemed to coincide with the fall of the Knights as Union started a slide from a place of competing for a conference championship on a yearly basis to annually finishing in the bottom half of the league standings.
