Redbank romps to fifth straight tournament title

[L-V photo by Ron Willison] REGISTERING THE FINAL two points of a win in the championship bout at 106 pounds, Redbank ValleyÕs Kolbin Altobelli put CochrantonÕs Samantha Boozer on her back for a nearfall in the third period and finished off a 9-0 major decision for the first of three Bulldog titles.

NEW BETHLEHEM - From top to bottom, it was a total team effort as the Redbank Valley Bulldogs got off to a great start and were never really threatened for the team championship at the 42nd Annual Redbank Valley Christmas Wrestling Tournament on Thursday and Friday.
Pushing eight wrestlers into the championship round, Redbank claimed three individual titles and none of the Bulldog entries finished lower than fifth place. Along with the three firsts and five seconds, Redbank finished with three thirds, one fourth and two fifth-place finishes in the two-day competition. It was the Bulldogs fifth consecutive team title and the 25th time that Redbank has captured the tournament championship.
