Esther E. Shaffer, 69

Esther E. Shaffer, 69, of the Shannondale area, died Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at Jefferson Manor.
Born June 12, 1942 in Kittanning, she was the daughter of Sheridan Milford John and Helen Shoemaker John.
She married Gene Alfred Shaffer on November 11, 1971, in Kittanning.
Mrs. Shaffer was a member of the Shannondale Lutheran Church.
She enjoyed her dogs and working in the flowerbed.
In addition to her husband, survivors include two sons, Gene Allen and Wilford Leroy Shaffer; four grandchildren; and a sister, Barb Aikens of Emmitsburg, Md.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Shad John.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 12, and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, January 13, at the Furlong Funeral Home in Summerville.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 13, 2012 at the funeral home with the Rev. James Steingass officiating.
Interment will be in the Shannondale Union Cemetery, Redbank Township, Clarion County.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Lutheran Church in Shannondale.
