BRYON 'BUD' ELLWOOD BARNETT, 87

Byron "Bud" Ellwood Barnett, 87, of New Bethlehem, died Wednesday morning, February 8, 2012, shortly after becoming ill with pneumonia.
Born April 4, 1924, in Porter Township, Clarion County, he was the son of Joseph Parker Barnett and Eva Stewart Barnett.
Mr. Barnett was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during World War II.
He married Florence Willison on September 4, 1948, and remained her devoted husband for 63 years. She survives.
Through the years, Mr. Barnett worked as a mechanic for Hetricks Farm Supply and R&H Trucking, a diesel mechanic for C&K Coal Company, a supervisor for PennDOT and was a Porter Township Supervisor.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 522 of New Bethlehem, the Seminole Rod and Gun Club and the American Legion.
Mr. Barnett enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, his cats, spending time in his garage and, most of all, the time he spent with his family.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Burford and her husband, Brent, of Brookville, and Deborah Barr and her husband, Dick, of Distant; five grandchildren, Eric Burford, Sean Schoeffel, Erin Burford McKillip, Keli Schoeffel and Kara Burford Johnston; his pride and joy, great grandsons, Parker Ellis McKillip and Brant Eric McKillip; and his baby sister, Ilene Crawford.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Marie McEwen, Irene Magness, Harriet Shoemaker Reichard and Maxine Wolcott; and a brother, Joseph Barnett.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 8 p.m. on Friday, February 10, at the Rupert Funeral Home in New Bethlehem.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2012, at the funeral home with the Rev. Ben Shindledecker officiating.
Interment will follow in Herman Cemetery, Porter Township.
