Bonnie Lou Donaldson, 79, of Clarion, died Monday, February 20, 2012, at Clarview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her family.
Born October 9, 1932, in Center Point, W.Va., she was the daughter of Okey and Virdie (Swiger) Yeater.
Mrs. Donaldson was raised in Center Point and attended Pike Fork School.
She was married to Herbert Franklin Donaldson for 22 years. He preceded her in death on July 4, 1973.
Mrs. Donaldson was a member of Pike Fork Church of God.
She moved to Clarion in her teen years and called the area home ever since.
Mrs. Donaldson was creative and loved crocheting, embroidering, doing crafts and working in her garden during her younger years. She was a social person who enjoyed playing bingo and attending fish dinners at the VFW, and she always looked forward to going out to dinner with her girlfriends.
Other hobbies included playing cards, working on jigsaw puzzles and listening to country music. Camping and fishing were two favorite pastimes, and Mrs. Donaldson was a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, making sure she never missed a game.
Despite her many interests, family always came first. She cherished the time she was able to spend with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and they all will miss her lively and caring spirit.
Survivors include two sons, Hurman L. Donaldson and his wife, Sylvia, of Rimersburg, and H. Scott Donaldson and his wife, Mary Jo, of Sligo; a daughter, Karen F. Jordan and her husband, Ronald, of Parker; 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and two nieces, who were raised as daughters, Lura Haynes, of Austin, and Ruth Sullivan of Meadville.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandchild; a brother, Drexel Yeater; two sisters, Clovis Roberts and Marjorie Fadley; and longtime companion, Ivan Lasher.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, February 22, and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 23, at the Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Rimersburg.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 23, 2012, at the funeral home with the Rev. Dan George officiating.
Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Licking Township, Clarion County.
