This week's new movies: the Grinch, the girl with the tattoo and ghoulish Nazis

The Grinch returns in animated form, and the girl with the “Dragon Tattoo” returns with a new lead actress in this week’s new movies.

“The Grinch”: Benedict Cumberbatch gives voice to the Grinch and Pharrell Williams is the narrator for this animated Dr. Seuss tale from the makers of the “Despicable Me” movies.

“The Girl in the Spider’s Web”: The “Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” book series is rebooted at the movies with Claire Foy (Elizabeth in “The Crown”) as Lisbeth Salander.

“Overlord”: In this wartime horror-mystery produced by J.J. Abrams, paratroopers are dropped behind enemy lines on D-Day, where they find a German village full of supernatural forces as the result of Nazi experiments.
