DuBOIS — DCC will be hosting a Meet the Instrument Night at 5:30 p.m. tonight in the elementary library. Thanks to a co-operative arrangement with the Brockway Area School District, such a program has been made possible, according to DCC instrumental instructors Sarah Winslow and Joe Lesnick. During the meeting, interested parents and guardians will learn about the lessons, instruments, and planned schedules.

Instrumental instruction for grades 4, 5, and 6 will be offered on the following instruments: flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, baritone, French horn, and percussion. A representative from Spott’s Music Center will also be present to discuss an instrumental rental program and how to register.

Winslow and Lesnick add, “All instruction is free, but parents/guardians must obtain the instrument for the student.” A weekly lesson during the school day will be provided by either Winslow or Lesnick depending on the chosen instrument. In addition, the ‘beginners’ band ensemble will meet to rehearse on Tuesday afternoons from 2:30 to 3:30 in the music room.
