DuBOIS — The Lenten Evening Prayer Series at St. Catherine Church, DuBois, continues at 6:30 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Kevin Bockus as guest speaker.

Evening Prayer is a time of music, prayer, Scripture and a reflection by a speaker. Located at 123 S. State St., DuBois, this event is open to all denominations.

Bockus has been a chaplain at Penn Highlands DuBois since January 2008 where he ministers to the spiritual needs of patients receiving radiation and chemotherapy treatments at Hahne Regional Cancer Center, inpatients in the hospital and individuals receiving hospice care in their homes through Penn Highlands DuBois Hospice. He has been a board-certified chaplain since February 2014, and was appointed as director of Pastoral Care at Penn Highlands DuBois in May 2015.

In addition to his hospital work, he is blessed with pulpit supply and interim pastoral work. At the end of his day, Bockus enjoys life on his hobby farm where his wife and he raise chickens, honeybees, strawberries, a vegetable garden, a dog and a parakeet.
