...STRONG NORTHEAST WINDS TO DEVELOP THIS AFTERNOON...

.A cold front will sag southward over western Lake Superior this

afternoon and tonight. Winds behind the front will back

northeasterly and wind speeds will increase. The combination of

stronger winds and waves will create conditions hazardous to

smaller vessels. High pressure will build southward over the lake

Saturday afternoon and evening with winds gradually relaxing as

they veer easterly.

10 PM CST SATURDAY...

The National Weather Service in Duluth has issued a Small Craft

Advisory, which is in effect from 4 PM this afternoon to 10 PM

CST Saturday.

* Sustained Winds...Northeast 15 to 25 knots.

* Waves...7 to 9 feet.

* Wind Gusts...Up to 30 knots.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Small Craft Advisory means that wind speeds of 22 to 33 knots

are expected to produce conditions hazardous to small craft.

Less experienced mariners, especially those operating smaller
