PUNXSUTAWNEY — A DuBois man wanted in connection with the overdose death of a 29-year-old Brookville man last summer was arrested. The Pennsylvania State Police in collaboration with Jefferson County District Attorney Jeff Burkett’s office took Ryan Keith Saline, 33, of 10584 Treasure Lake Road, DuBois, into custody Thursday evening.

According to the press release issued by Punxsutawney-based state police, a 911 call by the victim’s sister prompted the investigation as the Jefferson County Deputy Coroner Carl Abrahamson pronounced the victim deceased as a result of a suspected drug overdose.

Investigation revealed that the victim traveled to Saline’s house in Treasure Lake on Aug. 30, 2017, and purchased heroin labeled “ROLEX.” The victim then went back to his home along Route 322 in Rose Township, Jefferson County, and ingested the substance, resulting in his death.

Following an autopsy, it was the pathologist’s opinion that the victim died as a result of fentanyl toxicity. After further investigation, state police were able to locate the source of the heroin that contained fentanyl, resulting in the victim’s death.

State police obtained an arrest warrant for Saline Wednesday through the office of District Judge Jacqueline Mizerock, charging him with drug delivery resulting in death, drug possession, two counts of drug delivery, criminal use of a communication facility, involuntary manslaughter and recklessly endangering another person.
