Firefighter honored

KERSEY — Fox Township firefighter Blaine E. “Skeeter” Wildnauer Jr. will be honored Sunday at the 33rd annual National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service in Emmitsburg, Md.

He is one of six firefighters who died in the line of duty in Pennsylvania who will be honored among 98 from across the country. Their names will be added to the memorial on the National Fire Academy grounds.

Wildnauer, 58, a member of the Fox Township Volunteer Fire Department, died after suffering a heart attack at the scene of a motor vehicle crash with injuries on Nov. 2, 2013. He had been with the department for 40 years.
