JAMES CITY — A special election in Highland Township is slated for May’s primary election ballot.
According to Elk County Election Director Kim Frey, the county’s Democratic party elected Misty Edinger to run, and the Republican party nominated Tom Orzetti.
They are vying to fill the unexpired term of former supervisor Mike Detsch, who resigned. His term is to January 2022.
Orzetti is a store owner and Edinger is a patient accounting representative, according to election records.
Multiple calls were made to both candidates for more information and were not returned.
