STRONACH — Highlights from Tuesday’s Penn Township Supervisors’ meeting are:
1The supervisors reviewed and had no comment on a subdivision plan transferring nearly four acres of property belonging to the Curwensville Area School District to Grampian Borough. The land is located nearby to Grampian Community Park and was part of the property surrounding the former Penn-Grampian Elementary School. The school closed at the end of the 2016-17 school year and was sold to CenClear Child Services.
2The board authorized a contract for the purchase of 150 tons of salt from the state’s cooperative purchasing program COSTARS. The salt will be used for winter road maintenance during the winter of 2018-19.
3 The supervisors did not approve particpation in Clearfield County Solid Waste’s illegal dumping program at an annual cost of $500.
The supervisors’ next meeting is March 6 at 3 p.m. at the municipal building.
