Richard Alan McCracken, 62, DuBois Rockton Road, Rockton, has been charged by state police in DuBois with three felony counts of aggravated indecent assault and three misdemeanor counts of indecent assault as a result of incidents that occurred between Feb. 1 and March 21 at a Rockton residence, according to a criminal complaint filed at District Judge Patrick Ford’s office in DuBois.
McCracken is currently in the Clearfield County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bail.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, the mother took the child to a doctor’s appointment on March 25. After a physical examination, a family nurse practitioner signed a document advising that she believed the 3 year old child had been sexually abused.
On May 2, McCracken was interviewed and submitted to a polygraph by state police and admitted that on at least three occasions since February, he touched the child inappropriately, the affidavit said.
On May 7, state police spoke to McCracken’s wife, who said that after the polygraph test ended and her husband returned home, he allegedly admitted to her that he touched the child three times, the affidavit said. She said her husband then grabbed a gun and said he was going to shoot himself because he didn’t know what to do.
McCracken was later taken to Penn Highlands DuBois hospital.
His preliminary hearing has been scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at Ford’s office.
