PLEASANT MOUNT, Pa. (AP) — Authorities say the deaths of a couple whose bodies were found in their northeastern Pennsylvania home are being investigated as a murder-suicide.

Troopers in Wayne County say a relative found the bodies of 73-year-old Alban Vaverchak and his 67-year-old wife, Carol, in their Mount Pleasant Township home Tuesday.

Both had gunshot wounds to the head. Investigators said they believe the man shot his wife before turning the weapon on himself.

Police said post-mortem examinations are planned and troopers are continuing to investigate.
