An arrest has been made in a Darley Woods homicide--almost two years to the day it happened.
New Castle County Police arrested Seth Kinderman, 22, in the death of Jakeith Latham, 34, of Clayton, New Jersey.
On December 20, 2016, officers went to the 1000 block of Linda Road in the Darley Woods community after a witness called 911 to report an unconscious man on the sidewalk. The victim, Latham, was found with a gunshot wound to his upper body.
Multiple investigative leads led police to Kinderman, and he was arrested on December 5, 2018.
Kinderman was charged with first-degree murder, first-degree felony robbery, and two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
"Our thoughts and prayers remain with Mr. Latham’s family as they continue to cope with his passing," said Chief of Police Col. Vaughn M. Bond, Jr. in a statement. "Mr. Latham was an upstanding young man with a promising future whose life ended in a senseless act of violence. I remain extremely grateful for the dedication, perseverance, and commitment that our officers have shown throughout this nearly two-year long investigation. I hope that the Latham family will find some sense of peace knowing that the person responsible for this crime has been apprehended."
Kinderman was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2, and he is being held on more than $1 million cash bail.
