PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Police say a Rhode Island woman scared off an intruder in her home.

Police tell the Providence Journal the woman was working on her computer in her bedroom in Providence late Sunday night when she was startled by the sound of someone walking through her house.

She told police a strange man entered her bedroom.

She said she stood up and screamed: "Get the hell out of my house!"

The woman said she chased the man out the back door, all the time yelling at him to get out. He ran away, empty-handed.

He was gone by the time police arrived.
