Jacob G. Moore, 19, of Clearfield is facing felony charges stemming from allegedly having sex with a 14-year-old girl.
Moore has been charged with seven counts of statutory sexual assault — which are felonies of the second degree; indecent assault-victim less than 16 years old — which are misdemeanors of the second degree, and seven counts of corruption of minors — which are felonies of the third degree.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on Jan. 26, the girl’s father reported to the Lawrence Township Police that he discovered his daughter was dating Moore and is concerned they are having an inappropriate relationship.
Police interviewed the girl, who initially said she was dating Moore but they didn’t have any sexual contact. However, she eventually admitted that they did on two occasions.
Police interviewed Moore and he admitted to having sex with the girl and said he believed it occurred seven times.
Moore was asked to provide a written statement but he refused, saying he wanted to “do his time and “get this over with.”
He is incarcerated in the Clearfield County Jail in lieu of $25,000, monetary bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 7 in front of Magisterial District Judge Patrick Ford.
