BROCKWAY - The Brockway Lady Rovers celebrated Senior Night with a lopsided rout of Redbank Valley, 17-1 in four innings, Thursday afternoon at Brockway Area High School.
Centerfielder Brittany Castiglione, the lone Lady Rover senior, was honored before the game then enjoyed a two-RBI, two-run performance.
But she was far from alone as Brockway, which pushed its record over .500 at 7-6, scored seven runs in the second and six in the third inning to blow the game open.
Cinnamon Monteville went 3-for-3 with two doubles and three runs batted in. Alyssa Daub enjoyed a 2-for-2 day with three RBIs, Michelle Mancuso went 2-for-4, scored twice and knocked in three runs and pitcher LeeAnn Holt went 2-for-4 while scoring three runs.
Holt had little trouble with the Lady Bulldogs, allowing a run on two hits with a walk and five strikeouts in four innings.
With the game tied at 1-1 entering the bottom of the second inning, Brockway started to hammer the ball.
Daub walked, then Emily Ruff singled. Zoe Hawkins, running for Ruff, and Daub executed a double steal. That set the table for Monteville, who delivered a two-run double to the gap in left-center.
Holt brought home Monteville with a squeeze bunt and she later scored to make it 5-1. Later, Julie Genevro and Daub each singled in runs to make it 8-1.
In the third, Monteville got the ball rolling with a double to left, then Sasha Fields singled.
Groundouts by Holt and Castiglione scored runs while Daub doubled in two more.
"We didn't know much about Redbank, but a win is a win at this point as we're trying to improve our playoff seeding," Brockway head coach Don Allenbaugh said.
The Lady Rovers return to action Monday at St. Marys.
In Thursday's other game:
Clearfield 2, Brookville 0
At Hyde, Lady Bisons pitcher Mandy Rowles tossed a one-hitter and struck out 10 while not walking a Lady Raiders.
The only hit for Brookville (5-5) was a one-out fifth-inning single by Shannon Shaffer, who was the only baserunner for the Lady Raiders. She reached on an error in the second inning.
Brookville pitcher Leah Dietrich tossed a four-hitter, striking out two and not walking a batter.
Clearfield scored in the third inning when Alanna Luzier scored on Ashley Lias' one-out single. The Lady Bisons (9-4) scored an unearned run in the sixth when Mandy Rowles singled in a run.
Brookville visits Curwensville today.
