DuBOIS - The DuBois Area High School cross country team split Thursdays meet against Hollidaysburg with the boys' team winning 21-36 while the girls' lost 19-43.
The Beavers had six of the top nine runners, including overall winner Bud Plaszenski, who posted the top time of 16:51.
Mike Robinson finished in second with a time of 18:24 while Gavin Volosky took fourth (19:18) and Mike Rajecki was sixth (20:11), followed by Jake Kennedy and Jordan Rowles in eighth and ninth, respectively.
Hollidaysburg's Michelle Herman finished first in the girls' meet with a time of 21:52 while Sam Thompson was four seconds behind to take second place for the Lady Beavers.
DuBois' Ellen Cantaral finished in eighth while Brittany Bly and Brenna Kreydt were 11th and 12th, respectively.
"The kids are beat up and tired after two meets in three days, and three meets since last Saturday, but that's part of the early season grind, which makes you better in late October when it counts," DuBois head coach Scott Sullivan said.
DuBois runs again on Tuesday when it travels to Elk County Catholic.
