Ruby A. Shovestull, 93, a resident at Jefferson Manor Health Center of Brookville, formerly of 280 Route 28, Brookville, seamstress, died Friday, November 13, 2009 at Jefferson Manor.
Born July 11, 1916, in Brookville, she was a daughter of the late Homer F. Means and Annie Wulford Means.
She married Howard Henry "Shoffie" Shovestull Aug. 19, 1936, in Oliveburg. He preceded her in death July 29, 1993.
She worked in pressing for Klines Cleaners of Brookville and as a seamstress at Jefferson Manor. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Brookville.
She is survived by one daughter, Pamela S. Allshouse of Brookville, one sister, Dorothy Best of Knox, and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Thomas B. Shovestull, five brothers and two sisters.
Friends were received Sunday at McKinney Funeral Home of Brookville. Funeral services were held Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. David Borger officiating. Burial was in Butler Cemetery, Pinecreek Township, Jefferson County. Memorial donations can be made to the First Baptist Church, 101 Main St., Brookville, PA. 15825.
