Rose M. Elgin, 81, 415 W. Weber Ave., DuBois, died Thursday at the Jefferson Manor, Brookville.
She was born Jan. 23, 1928, in Portland Mills, a daughter of Egnacious F. and Mary I. Gere Bugdon.
She was a graduate of Ridgway Centennial High School and was Catholic by faith. She was employed as a Federal Court Reporter for the U.S. District Court in Baltimore, Md, for over 30 years, and retired to this area in 1991. She was a great country music fan and loved animals, being a member of the SPCA and various animal protection agencies. She was also a member of the National Court Reporters Association, and the DuBois Senior and Community Center. She enjoyed reading, driving, and attending local fairs and summer celebration festivities.
She is survived by a daughter, Margaret Nagy of Los Angles, Calfi.; one sister, Peggy Hankinson of DuBois; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bernard and Bill Bugdon and three sisters: Bettie Fulmer, Margie Bugdon and Helen G. Bugdon in infancy.

ELGIN: Rose M., DuBois, died Nov. 19, 2009. Friends will be received from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Meehan-Shilk Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Fr. Brian Vossler officiating. Burial will in Lake City Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals or to a charity of donor's choice.
