The Allegheny Mountain League released its boys and girls all-star basketball teams for the 2017-18 season on Monday.
On the girls’ side, Ridgway’s Emily Fullem was the top vote-getter for the league.
Also making the team on the girls side were Brockway’s Leah Lindemuth and Kaitlyn Morelli, Curwensville’s Madison Weber, DuBois Central Catholic’s Ashley Wruble, Elk County Catholic’s Taylor Newton, Johnsonburg’s Cassidy King and Rylee Casilio, and Kane’s Ella Marconi, Trinity Clark, and Rachael Morgan.
Kane won the AML North Division and the league championship with a 12-0 record, while Ridgway was the AML South champion.
On the boys side, Elk County Catholic’s Ryan Newton was the top vote-getter.
Also making the team were Brockway’s Carter Adams, Curwensville’s Josh Terry, DuBois Central Catholic’s Justin Miknis, Johnsonburg’s Kacey Raubenstrauch and Austin Green, Kane’s Chad Greville, and Ridgway’s Neil MacDonald, Daunte Allegretto and Andy Breier.
Ridgway won the league championship and the AML South with a 12-0 record, while ECC took the AML North.
The Johnsonburg, Elk County Catholic, Ridgway and Brockway boys will start the first round of their respective PIAA Tournaments on Friday and Saturday. Johnsonburg will play Eden Christian, while Elk County Catholic takes on Jamestown. Both of those Class A games are at Clarion University.
In Class AA on Saturday, Brockway will play Bishop Guilfoyle in Hollidaysburg, while Ridgway will play the winner of this evening’s North Star-Penns Manor game at 4 p.m. in St. Marys.
On the girls side, Elk County Catholic and Kane made the state tournament in Class A and AA, respectively. The Lady Crusaders will play Winchester-Thurston on Saturday at 3 p.m. at Canon-McMillan High School, while Kane will play Bellwood-Antis on Friday evening at 6 p.m. at Clarion High School.
