Brockway’s Selena Buttery, shown in action earlier this year, won both her singles matches Thursday to help the Lady Rovers sweep a doubleheader from Bradford.

BROCKWAY — The Brockway girls tennis team defeated Bradford in both ends of a doubleheader Thursday.

Selena Buttery picked up victories in both No. 1 singles matches, defeating Lauren Baldwin 8-3 in one match and 8-6 in the other.

In the No. 2 singles matches, Morgan Pirow picked up a pair of wins of the Lady Rovers over Lillian Baldwin, 9-7 and 8-3.

Kenzi Hook won both No. 3 singles matches for the home squad, topping Olivia Angell 8-0 in one match and Claire Heffner 8-6 in the other match.

Lily Henry defeated Michaela Terry 8-0 in the No. 4 singles match in the opener, but in the second No. 4 singles match, Bradford’s Reece Norcross defeated Keasie Leach 8-1.

In doubles action, Hook and Henry won a pair of doubles matches for Brockway, defeating Angell and Norcorss 8-1 and beating Heffner and Terry 8-0.

Margo Lindenmuth and Sarina Alcock won the No. 3 doubles match for Brockway over Emily Roush and Heffner 8-5 in one match, while Alcock and Megan Smiley beat Angell and Hannah Zuccolloto 8-2 in the other No. 3 doubles match.

Punxsutawney 1

DuBOIS — The DuBois girls tennis team powered their way to a 8-1 victory over visiting Punxsutawney Thursday.

DuBois earned 6-0, 6-0 singles victories from Alexis Strouse in the No. 1 match, Alexa Zartman in the No. 3 and Jessica Askey in the No. 4.

In the No. 2 singles match, Alaina Heberling won 6-0, 6-2 and Alex Volpe won the No. 5 singles match 6-3, 6-0.

The Lady Chucks got their lone win from Abby Gigliotti and Alex Campbell in the No. 1 doubles match 8-2 over Lauren Milletics and Jenna Coffey.

Rachel Laster and Grace Askey won the No. 2 doubles match for DuBois 8-4.

Olivia Reed and Lydia Dixon won 8-2 in the No. 3 doubles match.

In the No. 4 doubles match, DuBois’ Claire Shaffer and Kaylee George won 8-5.

ST. MARYS — The St. Marys girls tennis team defeated Clearfield 7-0 in their final regular season match Thursday.

The Lady Dutch honored their three seniors prior to the match, as Isabela Ehrensberger, Lauren Squires and Lydia Wiest were honored and won the top three singles matches respectively for St. Marys.

Ehrensberger beat Sam Wisor 6-0, 6-0, Squires defeated Ally Gaines 6-0, 6-2 and Wiest beat Kylie Vantassel 6-0, 6-2

Kiley Williams won the No. 4 singles match for the Lady Dutch over Kirstie Vantassel 6-1, 6-4.

In doubles action, Brooke Henry and Davan Lion topped Wisor and Kirstie Vantassel 8-1.

Rachel Fleming and Lydia Ehresnberger won 8-5 over Gaines and Kylie Vantassel in the No. 2 doubles match.

St. Marys’ Breanna Marconi and Hannah Winseck topped Stacey Houchins and Emma Groth 8-0 in the No. 3 doubles match.

St. Marys head coach Dave Lion noted that all three seniors will be missed and have been great role models for the team’s younger players.
