NEW BETHLEHEM — The District 9 soccer brackets were released Thursday night by chairman Kevin Doverspike, and a host of Tri-County Area teams will be competing in the tournaments that span three different classifications for both boys and girls.

And, games will be played in Class A, AA and AAA starting on Monday.

On the boys’ side, six teams have entered the Class A Tournament. Brockway and Clarion-Limestone are the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds, respectively, and both have byes into the semifinals.

Brockway gets the winner of Monday’s quarterifinal matchup that has No. 5 Elk County Catholic traveling to No. 4 Coudersport. That game will be played at 4 p.m.

In the bottom half of the draw, No. 6 Forest Area travels to No. 3 Port Allegany on Monday for a 4 p.m., with the winner facing second-seeded Clarion-Limestone.

In Class AA, St. Marys is the top seed in a three-team bracket and as a bye into the championship game. The Flying Dutchmen will square off for the title agains the winner of Wednesday’s semifinal that pits No. 3 Karns City against No. 2 Punxsutawney. That game will be played Wednesday at DuBois at 7 p.m.

Speaking of DuBois, the Beavers are the top seed for the Class 3A boys tourney. DuBois awaits the semifinal winner between third-seeded Clearfield and second-seeded Bradford. That contest will be played at Brockway’s Frank Varischetti Field on Thursday at 7 p.m.

Over on the girls’ side, the Class A tournament features seven teams.

Top-seeded Brockway has the lone bye into the semifinals and will play either fifth-seeded Redbank Valley or fourth-seeded Clarion. Those two teams will battle Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Clarion.

The bottom half of the bracket has a pair of Tuesday quarterfinal matchups. Third-seeded Ridgway will host sixth-seeded Port Allegany at Johnsonburg’s Memorial Stadium at 7 p.m., while seventh-seeded Brookville will battle second-seeded Elk County Catholic at Benzinger Park in St. Marys at 4 p.m.

The championship game in Class AA is already set, as top-seeded Karns City and second-seeded Clearfield will battle for the crown on a date and site to be determined.

In Class 3A, St. Marys is the top seed and awaits the winner a semifinal contest between No. 2 DuBois and No. 3 Bradford. DuBois and Bradford will play on Thursday at 5 p.m. at Brockway’s Frank Varischetti Field.
