JACKSON, Tenn. (AP) -- Marcus Wilson tripled and singled, as the Jackson Generals exploded for a season-high in runs in an 8-6 win over the Chattanooga Lookouts in the first game of a doubleheader on Sunday.
Jackson took the lead in the first when Ramon Hernandez hit a two-run home run and Wilson hit an RBI single.
Chattanooga answered in the top of the next frame when Alfredo Rodriguez hit an RBI single, scoring Gavin LaValley to get within two.
The Generals later added two runs in the fourth and three in the fifth. In the fourth, Matt Peacock hit a two-run single, while Daulton Varsho hit a three-run home run in the fifth.
Chattanooga saw its comeback attempt come up short after Rodriguez drew a bases-loaded walk, scoring Taylor Trammell in the seventh inning to cut the Jackson lead to 8-6.
Ryan Atkinson (2-0) got the win with 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief while Chattanooga starter Scott Moss (0-1) took the loss in the Southern League game.
