The Ridgway gymnastics team put together a weekend to remember at the PA Classic Gymnastic Championships, as the squad captured two individual state titles while also winning the team crown in the Bronze Division at Moon Area High School.

Ridgway impressive weekend was led by senior Hailey Hoffman, who win an individual state title in the Gold Division (the highest competition level) on the floor exercise with a score of 9.367, besting second-place Alexa Gonczi of Central Valley by .267 points.

Hoffman also medaled in the other three events, winning a bronze of bars (8.750) while finishing ninth on vault (9.067) and beam (8.875). Those four performances helped the Lady Elker win the silver medal in the all-around in the division, with her 36.059 placing her just behind Central Valley’s Carolyn Grimm (36.067).

Hoffman helped power Ridgway to the team crown in the Bronze Division with an overall score of 127.717.

She was one of two area gymnastics to compete in the Gold Division. St. Marys’ Kaitlynn Neureiter was the other. She won an eighth-place medal on beam (8.950) while placing 21st on vault, 25th on bars and 22nd on floor to come in 17th in the all-around (33.717) out of 32 competitors.

Hoffman was joined as a state champion by teammate Jordan Bundy, who won a gold medal on vault (8.650) In the Bronze Division. Bundy also was 10th on beam.

The area had two other state medalists in the Bronze Division in Ridgway’s Madison Shilk and St. Marys’ Olivia Mosier.

Shilk won a bronze medal on the floor (8.317) and added a seventh-place medal on vault (8.300).

As for Mosier, she captured a medal in all four events on her way to placing fifth in the all-around (30.667) in the divison. She sixth on vault (8.350), seventh on floor (7.967) and eighth on both bars (6.875) and beam (7.475).

A trio of area competitors also claimed medals in the Silver Division, the second-highest level at the event.

Ridgway’s Rachael Schiafone captured the highest of those medals with a bronze on the bars (8.300). The Lady Elker also was 17th on floor, 22nd on vault and 27th on beam en route to a ninth-place finish in the all-around (32.883).

St. Marys’ Therese Guido finished ahead of Schiafone in the all-around, coming in sixth with a score of 33.016. She won a seventh-place medal on bars (7.925) while also finishing 11th on beam, 13th on floor and 26th on vault.

Lady Dutch teammate Rachael Johnson took home a sixth-place medal on the floor (8.633).

DuBois had a trio of gymnastics compete at states as individuals but none came away with a medal.

Freshman Morgan Allman and senior Andy Weese both competed in the Silver Division.

Allman finished 23rd in the all-around (31.433) after placing 25th on beam, 27th on vault, 28th on bars and 36th on floor.

Weese was 40th on the vault (8.100), while teammate Damon Olson finished 20th on vault with a 7.933.
