A Surprise on Veterans Day

UNION HIGH SCHOOL’S Veterans Day program last Friday also served as a long overdue graduation ceremony for Robert L. “Bob” Fox of Rimersburg. Fox, who left school in 1946 to enlist in the Army during World War II, was presented with an honorary diploma by UHS principal Mark Schlosser. After returning home from the war in 1947, Fox’s father suffered a serious injury, and Fox went to work to support his family. A card shower is being held to celebrate Fox’s 89th birthday on Nov. 18. Cards can be mailed to Robert Fox, 292 Lobaugh Hill, Rimersburg, PA 16248.
