Bricks Fall at Dinger Building

A LARGE NUMBER OF BRICKS from the top of the Dinger Building along Broad Street in New Bethlehem came crashing down into the private walkway between the buildings last Wednesday morning. Borough police and maintenance crews responded to block off the area, which was later barricaded by the building’s owner, Ernie Dinger. He said that ice previously damaged that portion of the building’s exterior, and that the storm last Tuesday triggered the collapse. Dinger said he is now working to get prices from contractors to repair the wall. He said that no damage was done to the interior of the building, and that all businesses in the structure are open. No one was injured when the bricks fell.
