Fire Destroys Large Garage

FIRE DESTROYED A large garage Tuesday morning along Hickory Ridge Road, off Route 66, in Redbank Township (Clarion County), near Blue Town Tavern. Firefighters from New Bethlehem, Limestone, Hawthorn and Distant arrived shortly after 9 a.m. to find the building fully ablaze. The garage, owned by Virginia Minich, was believed to have been struck by lightning. “It was one of the hardest booms I’ve heard in a long time,” Minich said of the accompanying thunder clap. The garage, which is set away from the nearby home, housed tractors and other items.
