BUTLER – The first medical marijuana dispensary in the Pittsburgh area opened its doors last Thursday, with a week of educational events for both patients and the medical community.
Local elected officials and stakeholders participated in a ceremonial ribbon cutting welcoming CY+ (pronounced “see why plus”) as the second dispensary to open as part of the Pennsylvania Medical Marijuana Program.
Offering technology-driven patient consultations and a selection of over 100 different medical marijuana products, CY+ plans to educate the local community about the uses of medical marijuana, the available products and the process of obtaining a state-issued patient card.
During the open house and tour of the modern dispensary, co-founder Charlie Bachtell showcased the high-level security monitoring, wide variety of marijuana products and patient education resources including a “how to” video library.
“We recognize many people in the state are new patients of medical marijuana and our goal is to teach them everything they need to know from what product to choose for their condition to how to actually administer it,” Charlie Bachtell said. “Our staff has undergone extensive training from some of the leading marijuana doctors and researchers in the country and we look forward to helping members of the community finally experience relief,” he added.
The welcoming dispensary features private, one-on-one consultations where patients can feel comfortable discussing their condition or symptoms and explore the appropriate medical marijuana product. CY+ will carry a complete line of pharmaceutical-grade, dose regulated blends of cannabinoid-specific and terpene-specific products including profiles of THC, CBD and CBN. With no smokable or edible products allowed in the state, CY+ will carry a wide selection of pills, oils, topical forms (including gels, creams and ointments), vape pens, tinctures and liquids.
CY+ is located in Butler near Kelly Automotive Park. Information on all events can be found on cydispensary.com.
Cresco Yeltrah was awarded two permits in the state’s rigorous application process and operates a cultivation facility in Brookville and CY+ dispensaries in Butler, Pittsburgh (Strip District), and a third location soon to be announced.
