NEW BETHLEHEM – Four local men are facing charges following a violent altercation outside Diddy’s Bar along Broad Street in New Bethlehem March 18.
Brent Allen Lee, 36, of Fairmount City, Braxton Richard Orr, 23, of New Bethlehem, Anthony Lynn Ortz, 23, of New Bethlehem, and Gary Dylan Rhodes, 23, of Mayport, were all charged with aggravated assault and simple assault, conspiring to commit both aggravated and simple assault, reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct and harassment.
According to court documents, the incident took place at approximately 1:30 a.m., following an altercation between the victim’s father and another individual inside the bar.
Conspiring together, the four suspects reportedly followed the victim, whose name was not released, into the parking lot behind the building and instigated a fight with the victim and his father.
The men allegedly kicked the victim in the face as he attempted to get off the ground, resulting in the need for surgery to repair a broken jaw. The victim also suffered bruises, cuts, redness, bleeding in the ears and injuries around his mouth.
Charges were filed April 5 by Southern Clarion County Regional Police Sgt. Nicole Peck with District Judge Jeffrey C. Miller.
Hearings for all four suspects were continued to Tuesday, April 24.
