Polar Bear Plunge

SINGLE-DIGIT TEMPERATURES and an icy Allegheny River did not deter dozens of people from taking part in the 12th annual Parker Polar Bear Plunge on New Year’s Day. With 200 people registered to dip into the cold water, the actual number who took the plunge was less for the coldest day the event has experienced in a dozen years. For more photos, see Page B-8.
