DISTANT – Distant Area Volunteer Fire Department will hold a new fundraising event titled “Fire Fest Festival” from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 5, at the Brick House Bed and Breakfast in Oak Ridge.

The event will include microbrew-craft beer and a wine sample walk with a craft-food and vendor show.

Seven wineries and eight breweries from Armstrong, Jefferson, Indiana, Butler, Allegheny, Westmoreland and Venango counties will participate.

Tickets are pre-sale only.

The VIP Walk session ticket will feature an all-day event with special tastings, tent seating, food and an on-site person to present information about the craft of beer making for $50 per person. All sample products are provided by the host tent sponsor Key Beverage of New Bethlehem.

Session tickets will include the regular three-hour walk session and includes both beer and wine tastings, two sample tasting glasses, for $30 per person.

Walk participants must be 21 years of age or older.

All tickets can be purchased online at www.distantareavolunteerfiredepartment.net.

Local arts, crafts and product sales will join the craft-food and vendor show.

The Redbank Valley Community Center and Hawthorn Volunteer Fire Department will also join the food selling event.

Entertainment will be provided by DJ Entertainment (Charlie Brown) and live band (Jester).

The craft-food and vendor show is free for the public from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the Brick House property.
