“Leaving Iowa” tells the story of Don Browning, a middle-aged writer, who sets out for his father’s hometown to take his ashes to his childhood home. With Don’s son along for the ride, the road trip shifts from the present to Don’s memories of his torturous childhood vacations. The existential journey leads Don to reconcile his past and present at the center of the United States.
